Yamaha RD350 Concept…. Please!!!

I am currently in the market for a new motorcycle, I don’t usually buy new but this time I want this motorcycle sooo bad I would have to!

This is the 2009 concept Yamaha RD350.

From what I have been reading, this bike is suppose to bring back the ring-ding-ding-ding with a 2-stroke engine!
The challenge of course is building the engine to pass emissions and actually be “street legal”, which might not be too far fetched with the new outboard boat motor technology out there.
The motor of this two stroke bike is 350cc and estimated to weigh around 320lb with 65-75 rear wheel horsepower, making this bike competition to 600cc sportbikes with the power to weight ratio it carries. Not to mention one hell of a fun ride!

More reading has mentioned that this bike would probably fall in a lower price range, close to that of an SV650 or even less.

This is a one of those motorcycles that has you grinning from ear to ear every time you twist the throttle, too bad it probably won’t be put into production since trying to pass emission laws with a 2 stroke motorcycle is a challenge in itself. Maybe not by next year at least… Although I really wish, and would wait for it if I new it was coming. Oh well, there is plenty of other motorcycles out there that I would love to put in my parking stall.
